Khao Kheow Open Zoo
Tigers and gibbons and deer….Oh my!!
If you’re looking to get up close and personal with wonderful wildlife, Khao Kheow Open Zoo should definitely be high on your must-do list when you are in Pattaya.
Located in Chonburi Province, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is an easy 30 minute drive from central Pattaya. It has been around for more than 30 years, and is a centre for animal conservation.
On your way around Khao Kheow, you will be amazed at all the lovely open space the animals have to move around. Get up close to giraffes, gibbons and elephants among others – you can even hand feed them. Little kids will love this – and so will the big ones too!
Some of the awesome highlights you will experience include:
• Journey to the Jungle – a fun and captivating way to see the animals shown in their natural environment. You’ll see birds flying high above you and the big cats leaping as they would in the wild. There are so many interesting animals to see and learn about in this show, including wild pigs and even otters.
• Butterfly Garden – imagine being surrounded by softly flitting butterflies as you wander through this one-acre garden, their delicate beauty inspiring you.
• The Big Cat Complex – come along and see all manner of fearless felines. This major highlight of Khao Kheow Open Zoo includes the magnificent white tiger, and the very rare clouded leopard – a lucky thing as these are both endangered in the wild. Watch them play and see why these magnificent creatures are considered the Kings of the Jungle.
People can drive around the Zoo in their own vehicle, but the best thing to do (and something we recommend highly) is to hire a golf cart to explore the grounds. It’s a great way to experience the wonders of Khao Kheow in a fun and natural way.
Fun for the young and old, and everyone in between, a day out at Khao Kheow Open Zoo has something for every member of your travelling party.
Your friendly Pattaya Central guide will pick you up from your hotel/accommodation at a time that suits you.
